Who Will Control the Fuel—the IMPACTS or the SN?
From other posts, you will recall that the IMPACTS are the group that makes everything work—around the world. They are the fuel and the glue for the human race. The SN is the structural-nucleus, or power-control center, of any society. The SN can also be used to refer to the power-control center of a company or organization or group. In our discussion, it will pertain to countries.
We live in a universe controlled by the second law of thermodynamics. That means that the tendency of our universe is away from concentrated energy.
Dr. Robert Piccioni, the author of Everyone's Guide to Atoms, Einstein, and the Universe and Can Life Be Merely An Accident?:
“A system in which every particle must be in a well-defined state is highly ORDERED. A system in which every particle seems to have a random state (a state we couldn't distinguish from a zillion others) is highly DISORDERED. For example a perfect crystal is ORDERED and a gas is DISORDERED. DNA is extraordinarily ORDERED.
The second law says there are so many more DISORDERED states than ORDERED ones that, by sheer random chance, any isolated system is immensely more likely to become more DISORDERED than it is now.”
But we don’t see randomness everywhere—we see order. Stars, planets, galaxies, human beings, plants, animals—there appears to be a lot of order but maybe that is deceiving. Perhaps a small part of the energy is actually responsible for keeping the structure intact. As I mentioned in a previous post (October 18, 2010), I believe that the weak force is the primary anti-second law force—it is responsible for matter in the universe, enables fusion and therefore stars, and produces elements beyond hydrogen in stars. Plus, it causes radioactivity which keeps the iron interior of the earth molten, producing the earth’s protective magnetic field. And though it operates at very short distances—less than the size of a proton—this “weak” force actually appears to be responsible for most of what we see. That is anything but weak.
About 3.5 to 3.9 billion years ago, prokaryotic cyanobacteria (one-celled organisms with no clearly-defined nucleus) started producing glucose by combining carbon dioxide, water, and electromagnetic energy from the sun, releasing oxygen as a by-product. Then the concentrated energy of carbon-based glucose became an important part of the infrastructure of life and the primary fuel for life. What does that really mean? It means that glucose was “burned”—the concentration of the energy was destroyed, releasing the stored energy. This was accomplished by oxygen, the by-product of this “struggle” against the second law. Oxygen immediately started breaking up glucose for one reason—it wanted the electrons of the glucose molecule in order to complete its outer electron energy level.
Our brain utilizes glucose predominantly as its fuel. So the first fuel is still the primary fuel. That which “defeated” the second law became the fuel—and an important part of the infrastructure—for what developed afterward. The same happened in the human realm as we will see shortly with the San tribe and its shamans.
Life’s organisms had to adapt to the atmosphere which they were oxygenating. About 1.5 to 2 billion years ago, life took a gigantic step. A cell formed with a nucleus though the exact way it happened is unclear. Nucleated cells are called eukaryotes. A virus could have taken over a cell, becoming the nucleus, and then capturing bacteria to be its energy producer. Or an archaeon could have combined with a form of bacteria in a process known as endosymbiosis. Or it could have happened another way. No matter—the important thing is that a nucleus was formed, capturing bacteria as its source of energy. These bacteria morphed into what we call mitochondria, which are found in most living cells. Not only do mitochondria produce energy, they also regulate cellular metabolism and perform a host of other functions. IMPACTS are the mitochondria of the human race. The template was set billions of years ago.
The same utilization of an existing energy source occurred with plants. The chloroplasts that enable photosynthesis within plants are “captured” cyanobacteria, which started the whole photosynthetic process.
Bacterial remnants, chloroplasts and mitochondria, are still performing the two critical functions that are so necessary to life on earth: photosynthesis and energy-production for the cell. It is part of the great recycling, frugality, and efficiency of life in its utilization of energy. Life does not reinvent the wheel—it uses what is already on the shelf, efficiently conserving energy.
The story of the universe and everything else is really the story of a machine and what is required to enable it to operate—fuel. Glucose is the fundamental fuel for life; the prokaryotic cell became the fuel for the eukaryotic cell; the valence electron is the fuel for the atom; stars provide the fuel for the galaxy and its black hole; and the group I call the IMPACTS are the fuel for the human machine. Again, whatever develops first by overcoming the second law appears to become the fuel for the structures that follow.
The same general “glucose-making” process occurred in the human world and is still ongoing. The San tribe of Africa proved that they could defeat the second law—they could survive. (The San are over 100,000 years old.) And like the prokaryotic cell, they did so without a well-defined nucleus. In the prokaryotic cell, the DNA is housed in this ill-defined nucleus, or nucleoid, in a basic circular fashion. This arrangement is very analogous to the shaman of the San who was the “ill-defined nucleus” of the tribe, and who was also the carrier of the critically-important genes for the tribe. Plus, shamans (men and women but mostly men) were the “carriers” of the customs and ceremonial traditions of the group. It is remarkable how closely the model of the San follows the model of the prokaryotic cell. What it is showing us is that nature, and in fact the universe, are following a basic symmetry of development. The model is the same throughout.
The San left Africa 60,000 to 80,000 years ago, colonizing the world. In the Fertile Crescent of the Middle East, some of the descendants of the San developed agriculture about 10,000 years ago. This enabled the formation of a nucleus or what I call the SN for structural-nucleus. This predominantly-male SN nucleus then captured the San-and-shaman-like people to handle the same basic function that mitochondria perform for the cell—to provide the primary energy that makes everything work. These people—IMPACTS who possess the traits and characteristics of the San and shaman—invented goods and services, organized society, engineered solutions for human and societal needs, designed and produced ships and weaponry, cared for the sick and wounded, and did anything else that was critically important. In the process, the male SN got Bigger and Stronger, which allowed it to capture other SNs which were also playing the same game. This seems to be the primary goal of the male force in the universe—to get Bigger and Stronger. You can see that today’s world is following the same template.
In my opinion, the reason that human beings have been able to “conquer” the world is that the human model is in sync with the prokaryotic-eukaryotic model of nature—which is in sync with the universe which has the same basic model. Skeptical? Look at a Hubble photo of galaxies. What do you see? Big “eukaryotic” cells.
What is happening around the world today is that all SNs are developing their societies based on the IMPACTS—of course they are because there is no other way. No IMPACTS—no society. If countries are allies, they try to share their “glucose” (IMPACTS). If they are foes, they try to break up or thwart the use of the other’s IMPACTS innovation and creative-production.
Israel and the US share their IMPACTS energy but they want to break up the concentrated IMPACTS energy of Iran as it works on its nuclear program. Iran wants to break up the IMPACTS energy of the US in Iraq and elsewhere in the Middle East, and the IMPACTS energy of Israel. Israel continues to break up the IMPACTS energy of the Palestinians and other Arabs. All countries play this game—they use their IMPACTS against the IMPACTS of their foes. And if they can, they will align themselves with countries with a plethora of IMPACTS—as Israel has done with the US. The Palestinians have no such “well” of IMPACTS from which they can draw.
The point of the game is to get as many loyal, innovative IMPACTS on your side as possible because they are the creative-producers—they make societies function and prosper. If you see a country or people in trouble, there can be several reasons:
1) the IMPACTS are few in number—they have been killed or they have emigrated 2) the IMPACTS are being thwarted by the leaders in various ways 3) the IMPACTS are having to protect themselves against an enemy 4) there are few natural resources 5) the country or people have been exploited in the past and there are residual effects 6) natural disasters are taking place 7) other reasons.
Within societies, however, there are really 2 kinds of IMPACTS, each with subsets: the SN-IMPACTS who have been “captured” by the SN, and the P-IMPACTS who mostly reside on the periphery. The P-IMPACTS generally keep their distance from the SN and contribute little to its direct survival. This group includes many from the art and culture community, academicians, alternative medicine people, small businesses on the fringe, social-philosophical “thinkers”, and others who feel estranged from society. The SN wants IMPACTS who live within SN-designated lines, and who are inclined to create and produce products and services which aid SN power and control. These SN-IMPACTS generally follow the SN rules while the P-IMPACTS may ignore them as much as possible.
In summary, whatever it is that defeats the second law of thermodynamics then becomes the fuel for what develops around it. The female force works against the second law, and the male force uses this female creative-production as fuel—to get Bigger and Stronger. In the current state of humanity, those who work hardest to keep things together may actually be forming a new kind of fuel. If so, will this fuel be used for ill by the SN or will the IMPACTS use it in ways that foster human survival? It all depends on who controls it.
How can we reorient the process such that the IMPACTS have more control over their own creative-production? That is a question for all IMPACTS to consider. I would welcome your ideas.
